TEE TO GREEN
------------
BY GARRY KNOTT
--------------
VERSION 1.1 released September 1994
-----------------------------------
Congratulations, you have just obtained the first ever version of TEE to
GREEN. This disk contains the UNREGISTERED version. This is not a vastly
cut down replica of the REGISTERED version, so you will have a chance to use
the vast majority of the features and get a good idea if you will be using
it regularly enough to warrant buying the whole thing. However, there are
some restrictions which i will go into later in this file. Please take the
time to read this as it will help you get to grips with it. I have written it
as I would like to read a read-me file so hopefully it will not be too
boring!! Also, if you wish to register then the details follow soon....
TEE TO GREEN. WHY??
-------------------
Being a keen golfer myself, (handicaped unfairly at 19), I like to
keep hold of my old cards to see if my scores are improving. After a while,
I found I had so many cards that I just could not be bothered to go through
them so they just sat there making an untidy pile. About 18 months ago
whilst browsing through some Amiga mag or other, I saw a golf statistics
program on a PD listing, and when I received the PD catalouge disk, I found
another. Well of course I tried them out and was quite happy with them
both. Unfortunately, the more I used them, the more I wanted out of them, but
you cannot add features to a program just because you want them. It was at
this point that I thought that I would try to write one for myself. And
after 1 years programming, (on and off), this is the result. I hope you
like it. If you don't then register anyway and I'll listen to your moans!!
FEATURES OF TEE TO GREEN (registered version only)
------------------------
Will allow as many courses on file as you can fit on the disk.
As many scores as you like for each course.
Stableford rounds and Normal rounds put in with ease in same file.
Every type of round will be taken into account. Even if you have 17 zeros.
Handicaps worked out as to Royal and Ancient guidelines.
Handicaps can be set to be worked out automatically or only changed when you
want.
Each round saved is saved with the handicap at the time of the round.
Every round entered can be viewed with a simple date selector.
Lovely eye pleasing graphics and extremely user friendly

UNREGISTERED VERSION DRAWBACKS
------------------------------
As explained before, this program you have in your drive is unregistered.
Now and again a requester will appear asking giving registration details.
The drawbacks of this version are...
1. You can only have 1 course on file. If when you receive this disk you
find that someone has already put a course on file, then send the disk
to me and I will send you a fresh one. Also let me know where you
obtained it and I will send them a fresh one too. (I do not expect
this to happen but you never know).
2. You can only enter 8 scores/rounds for the one course. This should
give you plenty of stats to look at and a feel for the program. If
you think this is being a bit tight then write to me and tell me, I
might even change it to 20 scores/rounds for you if you cannot make
up your mind whether you want to register or not !
3. You CANNOT view score graph, or view worst eclectic score or print
worst eclectic score. Thats all you cannot do. If you select an option
that is barred, then you will get the unregistered version message and
details of how to register.
TEE TO GREEN, HOW DO I USE IT
-----------------------------
Leave the disk write enable at all times.(the hole in the corner must be
covered by the plastic tab).
Boot up the machine with the disk in DF0 or alternatively, double click
on the TEE TO GREEN icon from your Workbench screen.
TEE TO GREEN NOW LOADED.
If this is the first time you have used it then you will have to create a
new course. Click on NEW COURSE and follow instructions. Any mistakes
whilst entering the course details can be erased by using backspace.
If all the details are correct then press the Y button on your keyboard
when asked. Please make sure that everything is correct before pressing
Y as on this disk you only get to enter 1 course. The course will be
saved to disk and can now be accessed any time you reload the program by
clicking on load a course.
All you have to do now is enter scores for the course and see what you
can find in the menus. It is so easy to follow that explanations are not
required. Of course the registered version will have full literature.
Good luck and enjoy the program. If you dont then let me know why, I can
only improve and add things if I know what is wanted.
FORTHCOMING ATTRACTIONS
-----------------------
For version 1.2, There are already 4 extra features being worked on right
now. Registered users will of course receive this and by the time you
register, will probably have been added. I intend to make all future
versions fully compatible with the very first so you WILL NOT have to
re-enter courses and scores on the new program. Extra data files will be
created when each course is entered, for future use.
WARNING
-------
This program was written on a PAL machine with a PAL monitor and how it
will behave on an NTSC machine or NTSC monitor is unknown at this time.
If this version of Tee to Green looks ok on your monitor then you can be
sure the registered version will be fine. I would be very interested to
hear from an NTSC system owner to know of any problems. When I emulated
an NTSC system with a little program I have, I found no problems with the
program itself but the screen was a little odd. Emulating NTSC is
obviously not the same has having the real thing. Please let me know and
I shall adapt the program accordingly. Many thanks..
